I Keep Falling in Love with Strangers at the Airport

All I do is stare,
I make eye contact with some,
I smile at some and when I’m bold,
I talk to some,
I watch them read,
I watch them have coffee.

Over the course of the last five months ,
I’ve fallen in love with over 200 strangers,
Some it’s their eyes,
Some their stride,
For some it could be their teeth,
Could be anything.

I find strangers very attractive,
It’s easier to risk getting burned
When you already know they’ll leave.
I just bask in the moment,
And cherish what we share.

It’s not the kind of love that lasts,
Doesn’t change my life,
Doesn’t leave me with scars,
It’s just a stranger at the airport.

People always leave,
And I’m okay with that,
People always hurt,
But strangers can’t do that to me,
I have no expectations of them.

The last stranger I fell in love with,
I followed him to his car,
He stripped me naked in his backseat,
The sex was thorough and carnal,
He licked every part of me,
I let him pleasure me.

We parted ways to never meet again,
These French men have an art,
My flight was to Tokyo,
His was to the Middle East,
I keep falling in love with strangers at the airport,
It’s easier to risk getting burned
When you already know they’ll leave.
